Hammershus
Hammershus is one of Bornholm’s best-known landmarks and
one of the most impressive historic sites on the island.
The medieval castle ruins stand high above the Baltic Sea
on the northern part of Bornholm, surrounded by rocky
landscapes and spectacular viewpoints.
Allow time not only for the ruins themselves, but also for
a walk through the surrounding landscape and viewpoints
overlooking the coast.
COASTAL TOWN
Gudhjem
Gudhjem is one of Bornholm’s most picturesque coastal towns
and one of the places we especially recommend visiting during
your stay.
Red roofs descend towards the harbour between rocky hills,
narrow streets and small gardens. Around the harbour you will
find cafés, restaurants, shops and the characteristic relaxed
atmosphere of a Bornholm seaside town.
Gudhjem is also an excellent starting point for exploring
Bornholm’s north-eastern coastline.

One of Bornholm’s most recognisable landmarks is almost
on our doorstep.
Østerlars Rundkirke is the largest of Bornholm’s famous
medieval round churches and one of the island’s characteristic
historic buildings.

approximately 2 km from Østerlars, making the church an easy
first stop when you begin exploring the island.

Helligdomsklipperne
Helligdomsklipperne shows the wild side of Bornholm.
The dramatic granite cliffs, sea caves and rocky formations
create one of the island’s most impressive coastal landscapes.
A scenic path follows the coastline, with viewpoints and
stairways leading closer to the sea and rock formations.
The cliffs lie on Bornholm’s north coast near Rø, between
Gudhjem and Tejn, making them easy to combine with a visit
to Gudhjem.
BEACH & SEA
Dueodde Beach
At the southern tip of Bornholm, the rocky landscapes of
the north give way to sand dunes, pine forest and one of
the island’s most famous beaches.
Dueodde is known for its wide beach and exceptionally fine,
light-coloured sand. It is a beautiful destination both for
swimming on warm summer days and for long walks outside
the main season.
The distinctive Dueodde lighthouse rises above the surrounding
dunes and forest and is another landmark worth seeing while
visiting this part of the island.
